This workshop is for those of you who wish to begin a writing project. You may not know how to begin, or you may have already begun and feel overwhelmed or stuck. You may think (mistakenly) that in order to begin a project, your idea of it must be fully formed. You may wonder how you will ever find the time for it.
The only prerequisite for this workshop is your desire to begin a work of fiction or non-fiction. We will work from the ground up, probing the roots of your desire to write and identifying internal voices that may be trying to sabotage your writing. You will begin your project, if you haven't already done so.
Here are some of things we will explore: -- how to use the writing itself as a tool for exploration -- how to enlist dreams, intuition and everyday magic to guide you as you work -- what, if anything, needs to be added or subtracted from your life in order to begin and sustain a writing project -- how to boost your internal support system so that you can continue on your own
The workshop consists of discussion, writing (both "free" and directed), reading aloud and gentle feedback. It runs Friday evening from 7:00-9:30, Saturday from 9:00-4:30, and Sunday from 9:00-2:00. The cost of $250 includes tuition and a light lunch Saturday and Sunday.
